Audio Recordings: ClearBrief records audio on your device. Audio recordings are processed locally on your device for transcription using on-device AI. Recordings are only uploaded to our servers if you choose to sync them to the web portal.
Transcripts and Summaries: Transcriptions generated on-device remain on your device unless you choose to sync. Summaries may be generated using cloud-based AI services, in which case transcript text is sent to our servers for processing.
Usage Data: We automatically collect certain information about your device and how you interact with the Service, including device type, operating system, app version, and general usage patterns.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process your audio recordings and generate transcriptions and summaries
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests

On-Device Processing
ClearBrief is designed with privacy at its core. Audio recording and transcription happen entirely on your device using on-device AI models. This means:
- Your audio never leaves your device during recording and transcription
- No internet connection is required for recording or transcription
- You have full control over which data, if any, is synced to our servers
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We may share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting and AI processing. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

Data Security
